Connect Google Calendar
Sync Google Calendar both ways so your events block booking times and new bookings appear in your calendar, with Google Meet links for online sessions.
Connecting Google Calendar keeps your bookings and your calendar in sync, both ways.
Connect your calendar
- In the sidebar, under Calendar, open Calendar Sync.
- Select Get started and sign in with Google. butterbook.ing never sees your password.
- Allow the calendar permission when Google asks. Without it, bookings can't sync.
- Under Calendar to sync, choose which of your calendars to use.
How the sync works
- Your events block booking times. Busy times in the calendar you chose are taken off your booking page, so clients can't book over them. Only that calendar is checked.
- Bookings land in your calendar. Each confirmed booking is added as an event named after the service and the client, with a link to the booking.
Online sessions with Google Meet
To run a service over video, go to Services, edit the service, open Location & travel and choose Online video call. This needs a connected Google Calendar. Each booking then gets its own Google Meet link in the confirmation, and you and the client both see Join Google Meet on the booking.
If access expires
If Google stops letting butterbook.ing read your calendar, the page says so. Reconnect to start syncing again.
Disconnect
Select Disconnect and confirm. New bookings stop syncing and your Google events no longer block booking times. Events already added to your calendar stay there.
