Getting started

Get started with butterbook.ing

Create your account, add your first service and hours, and publish your booking page.

Setting up takes a few minutes. You'll create an account, tell us about your business, work through a short list of setup tasks, and then publish your booking page.

1. Create your account

Go to Sign up and choose how to sign up: Email, Social or Magic link.

If you sign up with an email and password, we'll send you a verification email. You need a verified email address before you can publish your booking page.

2. Tell us about your business

Next you'll see Welcome to butterbook.ing, with three questions:

  • Business name
  • Category, the type of business you run
  • Country, which sets the currency for your bookings

Your timezone is picked up from your browser. Select Let's go to continue to your dashboard.

3. Work through your setup tasks

Your dashboard opens with Finish setting up your business, a list of tasks with a progress bar. Select Start on any task to go straight to the right screen.

Task What you do
Add a service Create at least one service clients can book
Set your availability Tell clients when you're open for bookings
Set up payments Connect Stripe to take payments online. This is optional, so you can skip it for now
Connect your calendar Sync Google Calendar. Also optional
Complete your profile Add your phone number and location
Configure your notifications Choose how and when you hear about bookings
Configure your cancellation policy Set the terms clients agree to when they book

There are guides for connecting Stripe, connecting Google Calendar and setting your cancellation policy.

4. Go live

When you're ready, select Go live. Your booking page publishes once all of these are true:

  • your email address is verified
  • your business name, category and country are filled in
  • you've set at least one weekly availability time
  • you have at least one active service

Once you're live, your dashboard shows Share this link, with your booking link and a button to copy it. There's also a QR code you can copy for printed materials.

Your link looks like butterbook.ing/book/your-business-name. To change the last part, go to Settings › Business Profile and edit Booking Link Slug.

You can also add booking to your own website.
